This Privacy Policy explains how Cozybits ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our web-based habit tracking application ("Service"). By using Cozybits, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — your email address and password (hashed) when you register
• Habit data — the habits you create, check-off history, streaks, and progress data you enter into the app
• Payment information — billing is handled entirely by Paddle. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers
• Usage data — basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected automatically for performance monitoring
• Waitlist data — your email address if you sign up for the waitlist before launch

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide and improve the Service
• Send transactional emails such as account confirmation and subscription receipts (via Resend)
• Send habit reminder emails if you opt in to this feature
• Respond to support requests sent to our email address
• Monitor for bugs and performance issues

We do not use your habit data for advertising purposes. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account and habit data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

4. Third-Party Services

Cozybits uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
• Paddle — payment processing and subscription management (paddle.com)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com)
• Vercel — web hosting and deployment (vercel.com)

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Cookies

Cozybits uses minimal cookies strictly necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookies are used.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and habit data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your habit data
• Withdraw consent for email communications at any time by unsubscribing

8. Children's Privacy

Cozybits is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users

Cozybits is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. If you access the Service from outside the UAE, your data may be transferred to and processed in servers located in other countries (including the United States, where Supabase and Vercel infrastructure is hosted). By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users via email for any material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
